Database Upgrade

You must run the update-davical-database script unless upgrading from

Versions of Other Software

  • AWL 0.45 is required.
  • PostgreSQL 8.1 or later is required.
  • PHP version 5.1 or later is required.

PDO libraries

From version 0.9.8 and later it is necessary to have the PDO libraries available in addition to the legacy psql libraries.


Functionality Enhancements

  • Tickets and Bindings related to a collection or principal are now listed in the Admin UI.

Bug Fixes

  • The CardDAV 'addressbook-query' report is enabled.
  • A bug is fixed in the database libraries which caused some valid hexadecimal strings to be treated as numbers.
  • The PAM auth method now parses the username field better (Jim Hague).
  • An ETag will now be sent in response to a PUT for non-Calendar resources as well as for calendaring ones.
  • Collection / Principal maintenance screens will no longer cause query errors during the create action.

Other Changes

  • No other changes.

Downloading DAViCal

Debian / Ubuntu

Debian Sid/Lenny & Ubuntu Lynx

AWL and DAViCal are in Debian Sid & Lenny and can be installed directly with apt-get.

Older Ubuntu & Debian releases

While older DAViCal packages are present in several releases of Ubuntu, you may want to consider installing a more recent version from:

deb lenny awm

These packages will work with earlier versions of Debian & Ubuntu as long as versions of PostgreSQL (8.1 or later, 8.4 preferred) & PHP (5.1 or later, 5.3 preferred) are used.


An ebuild should be available in due course, within the 'sunrise' overlay.

iCal 4.x Users

If you previously configured 'override_dav_header' option you can undo that now.

Horde Users

Horde (from Git) might complain about DAViCal using an outdated WebDAV version. This is due to a bug in Horde when reading the DAV headers, as described at .
