Name change
From DAViCal Wiki
The old name was Really Simple CalDAV Store or RSCDS for short. The new name is DAViCal - intended to be pronounced to rhyme with lyrical or comical.

Installation Package Names
From version 0.9.5.1 you should install the 'davical' package for a new installation. All versions of DAViCal also depend on the AWL libraries package 'libawl-php' which has not changed it's name.
File Locations for the DAViCal Package
The davical and rscds packages put their files in slightly different locations, under /usr/share/package. This has implications for the Apache configuration, when specifying the DocumentRoot.
Upgrading from rscds to davical
From version 0.9.5.1 it should be possible to switch an existing installation from the rscds package to the davical package. The necessary steps for an existing installation should involve:
- Removing the old package and installing the new one.
- Editing the Apache configuration to change the DocumentRoot
New installations should, of course, use the davical package by preference.
Database Name
If you don't rename your database in the process of upgrading, it is strongly recommended that you create a /etc/davical/administration.yml file for those occasions when you may need to run update-davical-database, on upgrade.
