Getting Help
From DAViCal Wiki
|
There are several ways you can get help with DAViCal.
- Bugs - if there is something wrong with the way DAViCal is working, you should file a bug in the Sourceforge trackers. There is a link to the sourceforge bug tracker within the Administration application which points to http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=179845
- Help requests - you can post a help request on the sourceforge forums, or in the mailing list. There is also an IRC channel #davical on irc.oftc.net where you can ask questions.
- Enhancement requests - the mailing list is probably the best place to discuss enhancement requests, which should eventually become "Feature Requests" in the sourceforge tracker.
Places to Get Help
This Wiki
There should be information to cover may situations on this Wiki. If you can't find it here, but do find it elsewhere, consider helping future visitors by adding the information in some relevant location.
IRC Channel
The official IRC channel on irc.oftc.net is #davical - please be patient if you ask a question, because we may be asleep or otherwise unavailable. Once you do get a response though the ability to ask and respond to questions makes IRC an excellent way to communicate.
Bear in mind that some of the developers live in New Zealand, which is GMT+12 (GMT+13 from October through March) so if it's 3pm in GMT you're not likely to get a response! Also using words like 'Caldav' or 'davical' in your text can make people's clients make noises to attract attention.
Mailing List
The sourceforge-hosted mailing list is a good way to get in touch with a community of people who use and develop DAViCal. If you want to ask for help on the mailing list, please make sure you have checked the Wiki and the Forums first to see if you can find answers to your questions already. The list homepage is rscds-general on sourceforge.
If you post a question on the mailing list, please provide as much background information as possible. Client / Server software versions are particularly important. The preferred language for the list is English, but if you feel better able to express yourself in another language then we will attempt to translate. French, Spanish, German, Dutch or Croatian should be readily answerable.
Sourceforge
The most likely help on Sourceforge will be in the "Help" forum.
