From 0.9.2 of DAViCal the iCal 3.0.1 app which ships with Mac OS 10.5 ("Leopard") will work. Release 0.9.3 will work a lot better. The basic configuration process is as follows:
Configuration
Go into Preferences => Accounts. Click on the "+" to add a new account.

| Account URL | The URL to the /caldav.php/username/ location in your CalDAV server, something like https://calendar.example.com/caldav.php/username/ |

Click on 'Add' and the account should be added.
If there is already a calendar below that location on the server then you can expect iCal to discover it and display it to you, otherwise you will have to go back to the calendar view and do a long-click on the "+", choose "New calendar in <account name>" and iCal will create the calendar on the server for you.

Limitations
DAViCal does not yet support the draft CalDAV extensions for scheduling which iCal 3.0 does support. This work is currently under way, and it will hopefully be supported in due course.
Older DAViCal / RSCDS releases
DAViCal releases prior to 0.9.2 will return the following response and will not work.
"Request encountered an unexpected error (domain (null) / code 0)"
Older iCal Releases
iCal 3.0 was the first release to support CalDAV. A number of critical bugs were fixed in release 0.3.1, which is the minimum version you should expect to use CalDAV with DAViCal. Earlier iCal releases only supported WebDAV publication of calendars.
